According to Bloomberg New Energy Finance, the cost of solar energy in India is reduced by 28% since December 2010.

The reasons being 51% drop of solar panels’ pricing, national solar mission, state subsidies, guaranteed solar power purchase by the government, making solar energy – a mainstream industry in India.

The cost of solar power generated thus is aiming at approx INR 8.78 per kilowatt hour by 2013.This price is very attractive when compared to diesel cost @ INR 17 per kilowatt hour.
